About the prints:

Limited edition prints are black and white (unless stated otherwise) photographs hand printed by John Keates. I use the best museum quality photographic paper. They are printed using an archival printing process to ensure long life, and are window mounted using archival mounting materials.

Cibachromes are the highest quality colour prints renowned for their brilliant colours and longevity. Ilford's renowned silver dye bleach technology uses pure and highly stable azo dyes which are incorporated during manufacturing of the material. Then, during the processing, the negative image area is selectively bleached away. The result is a richer, more colourful, more saturated and more permanent image. With care these can last over two hundred years.
They are window mounted using archival mounting materials.

Ultrachrome K3 Prints are high quality inkjet prints offering a considerably longer life than standard colour prints. Independent testing carried out by Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc. of Grinnell, Iowa has shown that Epson UltraChrome K3ink set has an estimated life of up to 75 years in colour and over 100 years in black & white. (Dependent on display conditions)
I use archival high quality papers such as Somerset Velvet, Lyson fine art and gloss papers, and DaVinci fibre based archival paper for the finest quality archival prints (See individual description of photograph).
They are window mounted using archival mounting materials.

Hand Coloured Prints are either hand printed photographic black and white prints or Ultrachrome K3 Prints (See individual descriptions) that have been then coloured individually by hand by John Keates.
They are window mounted using archival mounting materials.

Please note that all photographic prints need care in display in order to have a long fade resistant lifespan.
